Neighbourhood Dining: Kinemi’s Kitchen

I didn’t feel much like cooking last night, actually, didn’t feel like cooking much at all lately ha!  So Kent and I wanted to find some place close by to try and we did!  It’s in the Champlain Heights neighbourhood, Italian Cuisine called: Kinemi’s Kitchen at 7751 Champlain Crescent, Vancouver BC V5S 4J6.

Dont judge a book by it’s cover now…this place is located in a neighbourhood commercial strip mall that doesn’t have much parking, but you can always park on the street.  the ambiance isn’t something to rave about, but it was clean.  I believe the cook used to work in a downtown italian restaurant, and one day decided to open up his own place!

The service is what you would expect from a small family owned restaurant, there was only one lady as the server.  There’s about 6 tables ranging in different sizes.  Definitely not a place for a big group.  We saw some people who came in for take out, and a couple of families and couples who came in and waited for a free table.

One thing you do need to know is that this place is CASH ONLY!  But with the prices they have, it’s not a big deal.

I had the Smoked Salmon Linguine ($12), and what was different about this one was that they added a wasabi aioli on top, which added a nice unique taste to it.  I can’t say that I’ve ever had wasabi in my pasta before…until now! and I like it 🙂

Kent had the spaghetti carbonara($10), which he said the sauce was really good, but he would’ve preferred a bit more protein…

Well if you’re ever in the neighbourhood, I would give it a try 🙂  We would definitely go back! 🙂
